Yellow & Pink, Would You Ever Think?

For those of you that know me, you’ll know yellow is my favourite colour. So when I saw this dress, firstly on fellow blogger Rachel Martino, and then once more at old navy, I knew I just had to have it. Not only is it perfect to layer a turtle neck underneath or a leather jacket on top, it’s easily worn on its own with a pair of chunky heels and a straw bag on a hot summer day. I decided to pair mine with a pink faux leather jacket from dynamite and some chunky blue suede heels from also shoes.

Speaking of summer, did you hear we’re getting 20cm of snow here in Canadas capital this weekend? Should I move somewhere that’s permanently warm? I think so!

Don’t Be Shy, My Lovely Spring

Even though it’s been on and off freezing these last few weeks I’m just so ready for full spring to arrive! Anxious may even be a better word as I’m pretending it’s not even cold and wearing whatever I want! I paired one of my more exaggerated tops full with multi coloured stripes and giant bows on the shoulders, with a more muted bottom, a black velvet mini skirt. This outfit is always a go to because you can dress it up a bit with some heels and a beret like Ive done so, or throw on some converse and you have a perfect walking through the park or shopping with friends look. I cannot wait for sundresses and sandals, drinks on the balcony, picnics in the park! I can already smell the warm air and sunscreen, can you?!

She Loves in Colour

Oh spring! Have you finally arrived?? Man I hope so, I'm so tired of having to wear boots and a coat that my inspiration for fashion has been dwindling. This day however was a beautiful and sunny day that had me, and I'm sure everyone, looking forward towards summer.

In order to get out of my gloomy mood I decided to pick out some of my favourite pieces from my closet and wear them all together! Whenever I'm having a bad day, my favourite pick me up is a colourful or pattern clashing look. For this look I paired a wrap style boyfriend button down from Zara with this beautiful floral skirt I found at winners. This has to be one of my favourite types of outfits!

If you guys want a guide on how I pair patterns together, let me know below and I'll put together a look book either here or on my Instagram!

You Love Who You Love

Hey loves! Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and were spoiled tremendously. Tim and I opted for more of a quiet night in and no gifts this year as we have 5 weddings to go to this year and a trip planned. The only thing I did ask for was for him to do a shoot with me, and though he hesitated, he was a complete natural in front of the camera. We had so much fun just laughing and having fun that the photos came out nicely candid and not too stiff or staged! Also a huge thanks to Cara, my photographer and friend who has so much patience!

Once the shoot was done, we headed over to our favourite coffee shop, the ministry of coffee for my favourite vanilla latte in the whole city! I don't know what they do but it's incredible! Thanks Adam if you ever read this for always making an awesome latte! They also make awesome vegetarian sandwiches but that's talk for another post. Would you guys want to see an Ottawa cafe guide?

We then headed home for a relaxing night! We bought vegetarian samosas and quinoa and cheese stuffed peppers from our local Farmboy! Which was so tasty by the way! We then dived into some macaron cookies, Lindor chocolates and wine all whilst watching Friends from College and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (I'm a sucker for makeover shows).
That was pretty much how the night ended, I went to bed because I'm apparently an 82 year old woman and Tim stayed up until 4:00am because he's apparently a teenage boy while his parents are out of town.

How was your Valentine's Day?
Let me know in the comments below!

You Make Me Smile With My Heart ❤️️

Hey lovers and friends, Valentine's Day is just shy of 2 weeks away and  whether you're a couple or a single, i'm sure you've seen that romance is in the air! Or at least that the heart shaped candy has been restocked for another year at drug stores and grocery stores.

This year, like many others, Tim and I have opted for a relaxing night at home. We'll order in some food (probably pizza) and watch movies on the couch with our other valentine Goose! For those that don't know who Goose is, he's our soon to be 4 year old, rescue dog that we adopted in May of last year.

So since I'll just be staying home this year my outfit will consist of sweat pants and a comfy shirt, but, that doesn't mean I'm gonna miss out on the opportunity to dress up like it's Valentine's Day to the days leading up!

In this look I went with a wrap velvet, floral print dress I got on sale from Suzy Shier. Now a floral dress alone doesn't scream hearts and love to me so I had to add the unbreakable duo of red and pink! This pink beret is decked out in tiny pearls which went perfectly with the faux leather blush pink jacket! The red Mary Janes added the perfect touch of red that complemented the red lip which tied the whole look together!

Let me know in the comments what your plans for the big day are!

Love always,

Style is a Way to Say Who You Are Without Having to Speak

Finding your own style

It's so easy to find a blogger you like and completely copy their exact outfit. Especially with apps like and Instagram. But the question is do you like their style or do you like them as a blogger/person/influencer that draws you more and more to be exactly like them, looks wise. I'm gonna share my tips on how to find your style and be yourself.

1. First and foremost the most important thing about individual style is confidence. Let's say you see this amazing dress with laser cutouts and patterns and you think "wow that's the coolest dress I've ever seen, but I could never pull it off." Just with that thought, no you couldn't pull it off because the outfit would be screaming and you'd be whispering. You want to wear your garments, don't let your garment wear you.

2. Find out what you like. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but don't take it too far. You like someone's hair cut? Go for it. You like a top they wore? Buy it. Just don't get lost in trying to copy completely because you'll end up losing your personal sense of style and only know how to copy+paste from one person onto you.

3. Try it on. Always try it on no matter what! You'll never know what style flatters your figure until you try it on. Once you know how to dress your body, finding your personal style will be much more simple.
